Tuesday 5 March, 2019.
Record numbers flocked to locations throughout regional NSW to enjoy our Cinema Under the Stars events, including the launch of our event by the shores of Lake Macquarie.
More than 33,000 people were entertained throughout the season by a number of incredible vocal talents including Luke and Sebastian, The New Venusians, Pat Tierney, Gabrielle Flanagan and Metta Musica, Jaz Salangsang, Adrianna Mac Trio, Tim Stokes, James Osborn, Nick Wall, Nick Filis, Riley Paige, Metta Musica, Loren Ryan and Laura Zarb, whom was also joined by her Dad, Matty, in Forster.
Scotty Troutman managed a few songs at Armidale before the thunderstorm interrupted proceedings and forced the event’s cancellation.
Our event showman mesmerised thousands of kids with his juggling acts while Jackie’s Circus Education tent kept kids in a spin – hula-hooping until sun set! Kids also enjoyed practicing their football skills in the off-season at the kicking target under the watchful eye of our community partners from Northern NSW Football, while our good friends from Surf Life Saving cooked up a storm (no pun intended…) on the barbecue.
As stars lit up the sky, the crowds’ attention turned to the big screen featuring one of two block-buster movies; Paddington 2 or The Greatest Showman.
Despite extreme heat, gusty winds, rescheduling three events and cancelling Armidale due to the thunderstorm, the free popcorn flowed, chilled water was provided and plenty of fun was enjoyed by all.
Cinema events were held around regional NSW at Ballina, Lismore, Orange, Port Macquarie, Forster, Dubbo, Mudgee, Port Stephens, Newcastle, Maitland, Central Coast, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Armidale, and for the first time Lake Macquarie.
Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the CUTS season, we look forward to welcoming you again next season.
