"The revamp of the recreation and computer space is a key element of the club’s plan to further engage with local youth by providing no or low cost activities which are attractive and engaging," Mr McMahon said.
It is our hope, that through utilisation of the drop-in centre we will see more youth getting involved in the Taree PCYC programs and initiatives.
We would like to thank Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation for coming to our aid to refurbish the centre,” Mr McMahon said
Charitable Foundation Executive Officer Jason Bourke said youth drop-in rooms were a great way to empower young people to take control of their lives, relax and learn new skills.
"The new drop-in centre will provide young people in the Taree community the opportunity to make the space their own and socialise with friends in a supervised and safe environment," Mr Bourke said.
The Charitable Foundation is focused on supporting community organisations like the PCYC that help improve the lives of young people and we’re very pleased to provide the funds for the development of the drop-in centre,” Mr Bourke said.
