The highest level of cover we offer for your vehicle which provides cover for fire, theft, accidents and malicious damage. It also covers your legal liability for loss or damage to someone else's property caused by a motor vehicle accident which is partly or fully your fault.
Comprehensive Motor Insurance covers your vehicle, plus damage you cause to other people’s vehicles or property. It doesn’t cover your liability to pay compensation if you cause injury to another person.

Comprehensive Motor Insurance isn’t mandatory in Australia but there are benefits to having it. If you choose not to take out Comprehensive Motor Insurance and you or the driver of your vehicle is at fault in an accident, you’ll be responsible for the cost of any damage to your own vehicle as well as for the damages caused to any third party property.
Some financial institutions might require you to have Comprehensive Motor Insurance if you took out a loan to purchase your vehicle.

If you’re driving another person’s vehicle, you should always check their insurance policy details to confirm whether you’re covered. You won’t be covered by your Allianz Comprehensive Motor Insurance policy when you’re driving someone else's vehicle.
When you purchase Comprehensive Motor Insurance, it doesn’t include CTP. CTP, also known as a Green Slip in NSW, covers your liability and the liability of anyone else who drives your vehicle for injuries you may have caused to other road users in a motor accident. CTP doesn't provide cover for any damage you cause to other people's vehicles or property.
Third Party Property Damage (TPPD) Motor Insurance covers damage you cause to other people's vehicles and property while using your vehicle. This includes the cost of the damage and reasonable approved legal costs arising from a covered accident.
TPPD Motor Insurance doesn’t cover damage caused to your own vehicle, fire, theft, or injury you cause to other people.

Accidental loss of or damage to your vehicle
New for old replacement after a total loss will be for a vehicle of the same make, model, engine size, features and paint type if: - you bought your vehicle new, or as a demonstrator model, from the manufacturer or their dealer - your vehicle is less than two years old from its first registration at the time it’s declared a total loss - where relevant, your financier has given its written consent - a new replacement vehicle is available in Australia.
Legal liability cover is for loss or damage you cause to other people's cars or property and for supplementary bodily injury arising out of a single accident or a series of related events – up to $20 million
Approved legal costs arising from a claim for liability covered by the policy
Emergency repair costs after an accident - up to $500 for any one covered accident
Rental car after theft of your vehicle - $100 per day limit, up to 30 days4
Towing after a covered incident
Temporary cover on replacement vehicle – up to 14 days
Trailer and caravan cover - $1,000 or market value, whichever is less.
Legal liability cover for a substitute vehicle.
Cover for personal items in your vehicle - Up to $1,000 for any one incident.
Emergency accommodation and travel expenses after a covered accident, provided that your vehicle was more than 100 km from where it’s normally parked at night - Up to $1,000 for any one incident.
Transportation costs if your vehicle can’t be safely driven home after a covered accident - Up to $500 for any one incident.
Lock re-keying/re-coding if the keys to your vehicle are stolen - Up to $1,000 for any one incident.
Child seat or baby capsule replacement after an accident - Up to $500 for any one covered accident.

Basic excess removal for windscreen claims. If the broken windscreen is the only damage to your vehicle, you can get one replacement and two repairs in any period of insurance.
